Its good to allow users to add comments and to rate the articles on a website. The mxComment utility provides effective ratings and commenting. It is free, it works well and it installs cleanly on Joomla 1.5 (although it is currently using legacy mode). However, it does involve quite a lot of fiddling to get it to behave so I'm going to consider jomComment as an alternative. I'll update this article with my findings.
